Kay's Cookies and Long Runs
March 14, 2018
BENEFITING: Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation
ORGANIZER: Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation
EVENT: 2018 Pittsburgh Marathon
EVENT DATE: May 06, 2018
If you know me, you know how bonkers it is that I would be in a place where I would think "Huh, maybe I should run a half marathon!" ...but here we are. Life is weird like that. I lost my mom, Kay Walker, to breast cancer when I was 7. She was a brilliant, resiliant, and badass woman. I'm going to run this half marathon in her memory and in her honor, because she made me the same way. I never in a million years thought that I could do something like this, but I know I can. And I will.
I'm running the Pittsburgh Half Marathon on May 6, 2018 and I'm looking to raise at least $500 to benefit the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation. I chose Children's because they do outstanding work in caring for families in Pittsburgh, and have had a direct impact on my family as well, when my brother had a brain tumor removed there back in 1998 (it's a great story for another half marathon). Please consider supporting this cause so that I can run real, real far in memory of Kay Walker and so that parents and children in Pittsburgh can benefit from the incredible care provided by Children's Hosptial of Pittsburgh.
