KELSEY HAS 2 TEAMS RUNNING FOR HER IN THE MARATHON RELAY FOR CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PITTSBURGH FOUNDATION!
Please help us raise $2,000 for this great charity! Kelsey is blessed to be a part of many special events to raise money for Children’s Hospital and we are exicted to run for her. Your donations help many children that truly need it, and Kelsey is honored that you would make a donation to something so special to her.
In November of 2013, at age 3,Kelsey was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, and mosaic neurofibromatosis. She has an optic glioma brain tumor, which has caused her to lose a lot of vision. She is legally blind, and cannot regain the vision that she has lost. Since 2013, she has done three rounds of chemotherapy. The most intense treatment was weekly, for 60 weeks. In May of 2016, she was able to stop chemo. Kelsey was able to enjoy 2017 chemo-free, this is the first year since 2012! In addition to countless doctor and hospital visits, Kelsey has major challenges at school also. She is in a learning support classroom half of the time, and has help from a vision therapist. She uses a large computer with special technology, to assist her in seeing books, papers, etc. They are working to help her get closer to the level of where she should be for 2nd grade. She started to learn to use a cane this year. In a few years, she will have a guide dog to help her be independent. As of December 2017, Kelsy had another stable MRI!
THROUGHOUT ALL OF THIS- ONE THING HAS NEVER CHANGED. SHE CONTINUES TO BE THE HAPPIEST LITTLE GIRL YOU WILL EVER MEET! SHE IS UNBREAKABLE, AND IS A TRUE HERO!
