BENEFITING: Children of Promise NYC
ORGANIZER: Children of Promise NYC
Children of promise is a Brooklyn-Based organization that offers after-school programming, summer camp, mentorship, and comprehensive mental health services to kids with one or more parent or guardian who is incarcerated. This place is a safehaven and a stepping stone for bright, sensitive, caring young people who--through no fault of their own--fall victim to some of the harshest injustices of mass incarceration.
I've been volunteering with CPNYC's mentorship program (and hanging out with my *unbeatable* lil buddy) since last August. As a first-time fundraiser, I'm pretty intimidated by such a high fundraising goal. But there is no organization on whose behalf I'd feel more comfortable asking for donations. Please consider joining me in raising my $3000 charity-runner entry minimum for the NYC Marathon--or volunteering your time to this impressive and impactful organization.

In 2017, every single TCS New York City marathoner, supporter and volunteer can unite to contribute towards the goal of raising funds for charities across the world. Historically, the marathon has raised a massive amount of money for charities across the world, and our goal is to bring the entire CPNYC community together to get involved and support our runners. When they run 26.2 miles for CPNYC, they are not only crossing the finish line for themselves, but for so many that will be impacted by their hard work and contribution! The Children of Promise, NYC Runners encourage and empower every single child we connect with because of their dedication to our mission. This year, help our team run for a cause, to break the intergeneration involvement in the criminal justice system, and be advocates for these silent victims of parental incarceration.
