BENEFITING: Children's Medical Center Dallas
EVENT DATE: Sep 23, 2017
Friends, I have been playing and supporting the Children Helping Children Tennis Tournament since I was in middle school. When I first started, I did it because the tournament was a really fun event. When I learned more about what the proceeds did for children battling cancer, I became more involved. The director of the tennis tournament, Ken Sumrow, began this tournament after one of his own children was diagnosed with cancer at a young age. His son was successfully treated at Children's and their family decided to give back to support others diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. One of my younger brother's friends battled just such a diagnosis a few years ago and I thought that was a pretty scary thing. It is fun to play a sport I like so much and provide help to others in the process. I hope that you will help me.
