Lisa A. Sutton’s passion is to comfort all who mourn, remove the spirit of heaviness, and heal the broken-hearted. My desire is to stop the generational curse of depression and to restore the family as a whole.

 Mission Statement:

My mission in life is Proverbs 22:6—“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”  Specifically, I work diligently to educate parents, teachers, children, and others in the community about a disease called depression.  To this end, I have written and published a book entitled That’s Okay Mommy, I Understand to help people comprehend depression through the eyes of a child.

My Specialties:

I have been counseling students for the last ten years and using Freedom House Ministries (FHM) methods for the last five years in whole group discussions within the/a classroom setting.  I have watched God turn students’ hearts of stone towards their parents to hearts of understanding, as well as, remove deep-rooted issues that would not allow the student to move forward in their academics.

Background:

For six years, I have been the CEO and President of a non-profit 501© 3 organization called “Children Against Depression.” I have worked in partnership with Harambee House mentoring young ladies who are wards of the state. For the last 13 years, I have taught middle and high school. In my search for effective answers to students’ disruptive behaviors in the classroom that would occur without warning, I’ve discovered that I could successfully implement the principles that learned in the Elijah House prayer ministry training and from her FHM personal prayer counseling.  These effective principles were also successfully introduced to the staff and parents.  My personal ministry includes volunteering as a prison minister through her church.

My Roots:

I have experienced and received the LOVE of God at an early age. At age, 13 I dedicated my life to the Lord and has been on “fire” for Him ever since.  I received personal deliverance while completing training to become a Prayer Counselor.
