Downeast Maine is in crisis. Too many low income families face barriers to accessing safe, high quality early care and education for their young children. Even though they work so hard to make better lives for their families, they find themselves living paycheck to paycheck. Unexpected life events can disrupt income, threatening their fragile ability to move forward.

Recognizing the need to support these families we created an Early Education Access Fund. Why? Because all evidence shows that consistent high quality care and education is the key component in making children from low income families ready for kindergarten and beyond! Our ability to help families bridge gaps provides a safety net, and is critical to rebuilding structure in times of change. Child and Family Opportunities simply can't help all the families in Downeast Maine who need it. We need your help to grow this fund!

If we raise the most funds by January 5th , Child and Family Opportunities will win $100,000 to help more families in our community access high quality early care and education.

Last year, support from friends and family like you allowed us to help 28 children from 23 families. This isn't nearly enough! We believe all Downeast children and their families deserve to thrive.
