BENEFITING: Child And Family Advocates Of Cuyahoga County
EVENT DATE: May 21, 2017
Child and Family Advocates of Cuyahoga County (CFACC) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. CFACC improves the lives of children and families involved in the juvenile justice, child welfare, and family law systems through service as Guardians Ad Litem (GAL) and Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA); education and training, advocacy, practice, and policy development; and collaborative alliances with related organizations.
CFACC's trained GALs and CASAs are taking advocacy to the next level for our community's most vulnerable citizens, abused and neglected children:
• CASA volunteers are able to conduct more visits and spend a great deal of time with children, giving these children stronger voices
• Children with CASA volunteers, and their families, receive more court-ordered services
• Attorney GALs provide legal advocacy for children in juvenile court abuse, neglect, and other cases; empower children by providing them a voice in court to express their wishes and best interests; help them understand complicated legal proceedings and how the court will determine their custody and services that will be provided for them; and advocate for the children in court
• GALs and CASAs provide children with books when they conduct home visits and with gifts and necessities year 'round for holidays, birthdays, and graduations, and other times of significance or great personal need for the children.
Please join our team! Here's how you can help:
Donate to one of our Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, or Kids’ Run team members or to our organization. No amount is too small. Every dollar helps a child in need of legal advocacy, books, and gifts
