Help us create a sustainable chicken and egg farming project that will teach the children how to raise and care for chickens, grow and mill our own chicken feed, gather eggs to increase protein in the children's diet, as well as sell the extra eggs. The profits from selling the eggs will go back into sustaining the chicken project and buying food, medicine and more birds. We need funding to build the barn, purchase 1,000 chickens, chicken feed, inoculations for the birds, and purchase the milling equipment so that we can grind our own chicken feed to cut back on operating costs in the future. Subsistence farming is the primary livelihood in northern Uganda, especially in the remote regions where the Otino Waa children are from. This sustainable chicken farm will not only benefit the children now, but it will equip them with skills that will serve them throughout their life.
