$2,808.66 raised for cancer research!
October 10, 2016
BENEFITING: National Foundation for Cancer Research
EVENT: Play4theCure 2016
EVENT DATE: Sep 30, 2016
Join together to defeat cancer! Cheer on Chelsea Field Hockey at Chelsea High School stadium on September 30. All high school game entrance fees, and all other donations will benefit the National Foundation for Cancer Research. 100% raised goes to research! On game day, we're also collecting donations for an entry into a special drawing for a new stick. Two games, two times the opportunity to fight cancer together:
4:30 p.m. Beach Middle School vs Ottawa Hills
6:00 p.m. Chelsea High School Varsity vs Novi
Why do we host this annual fundraiser? We are inspired by Chelsea Field Hockey Co-Founder Roxy Block and her brave, relentless fight against cancer. Roxy and other family members and friends fighting this disease are shining examples of strength and moxie. We are also playing to honor loved ones who are now cancer-free, and playing for those who have lost the fight to cancer.
One lucky person will win a new stick, donated by Longstreth (longstreth.com). During the games, donate for an entry for a chance to win the new 36.5 TK stick. Donations will be collected during the middle school game and during the first half of the Varsity game. The winner will be drawn and announced in the second half of the later game. All funds raised go to research by the National Foundation for Cancer Research.
We want to raise $2,500. Last year, we raised $1,873 through online donations, at-game donations (Chelsea Varsity vs. Mercy and Chelsea's Beach Middle School vs. Dexter), and through the additional generosity of Ann Arbor Skyline's home efforts to contribute to our fundraiser.
Join us in the fight to "stick it" to cancer! Donate here and join us on September 30!
