CLEA is a grassroots organization that was started in 1994 in Cedar Lake, Indiana for the purpose of improving and protecting the ecosystem within the Cedar Lake watershed. The organization consists of an Executive Board along with a Board of Directors. CLEA has completed many projects since their inception in and around Cedar Lake through locally raised money and a constant pursuit of restoration grants. Some of the projects include bank erosion protection, inlet channel stabilization, and lakeshore or stream bank stabilization. 100% of the donations made to CLEA are dedicated to Lake and Watershed enhancement projects.
