BENEFITING: Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation
ORGANIZER: Carpet One
EVENT: New York City 2019
On September 29th, our family will be traveling to NYC to participate in our 3rd Tunnels to Towers run. This will be the first time taking the kids and their first 5k! Matt and I have had such a wonderful experience with Carpet One and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation that we did not want to miss out this year! We want to teach our kids the importance of giving back and gently introduce them to what happened on 9/11/01. So rather than just tell them about the past and hope they get it, they are coming along to witness what this event is all about! The last two runs have been moving experiences and we feel that the kids are now old enough to do it with us. We told them that we will be working to raise funds and they are so excited!
The Siller Foundation has changed the lives of so many deserving men and women and I hope that you will help us raise money so they can continue their invaluable work. Back in 2017, we had the honor of being a part of building a smart home for Cpl Tim Donley in Bethel, PA. To be a part of a life changing event for the Donley's was truly humbling. There is a huge list of men and women who are waiting to get a smart home so they can live independently. Every dollar counts so please consider giving!!
Thanks so much in advance for your consideration!!

The mission of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.
What is the Building for America’s Bravest program?
Through Building for America’s Bravest program Carpet One helps support the Foundation as it builds mortgage-free smart homes for our most catastrophically injured service members. Each home is custom designed to address the unique needs of each individual. Smart homes host a myriad of features such as automated doors and lighting, wider halls and doorways, counters and stove tops that can be raised and lowered, special showers to accommodate wheelchairs cabinets, back-up generators, and central heating and air conditioning systems that can be controlled by tablets. These homes enable our most severely injured heroes live better, more independent lives. You make a difference!
To date, 48 smart homes have been finished with 25 more underway. By supporting the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation you help provide independence to those who fought for ours.
