CannidaCo Hello, CannidaCo is reaching out to you to ask for support regarding a business effort that my family is working on. The idea came about at the end of 2015, five relatives passed away in a short period of time. Because of these events, I was able to travel home, to St. Petersburg Fl, and reconnect with many of my extended family. I was amazed at how so many of my cousins, and my own siblings, had started working on their own entrepreneurial ventures. After assessing all of the individual efforts, I called my cousins and siblings together and pitched to them that perhaps we should combine our efforts and form our own family business. I am a 2003 graduate of the United States Naval Academy, and I served in the Navy and Navy Reserves after graduation. After my service was complete, I decided that the next logical course of action would be for me to translate my experiences into government contracting and civil service. I have spent all of my post Naval life in Washington DC. Because of the exposure I have had to the USNA Alumni Association, and the Federal Contractor community, I realized that this was a perfect area for my family to concentrate their efforts. I spoke with them about the 8a program, which is a program that allows minority, veteran, woman owned small business to gain access to government set aside contracts. I also spoke with them about the Patriot Express Loan program offered to many Veterans that were interested in starting their own businesses. This program is a part of the post 911 GI bill. In my family, we have about 7 veterans, including myself, that have served. In addition, my brothers started their own small businesses, along with two of our other cousins. All of the businesses were in the area of General Contracting or related services. My oldest brother is a certified General Contractor that owns his own modest company, JEdwards Construction Group. My youngest brother David, owns his own Power washing company, Helping Hands Power Washing. My cousin, Rolando Davis owns Antology Movers. The entire family is from St. Petersburg Fl. All of those businesses have incredible potential because of the area. So, after some effort, and some work on my part, we formed a new, family owned company. The company is called CannidaCo. The name of the company is an effort to honor my maternal mother’s family. They are the relatives that passed through the end of 2015, and we wanted a name that would tie all of us together. We also felt like it was marketable. So, we went ahead and registered our company with the state of Florida by taking the EIN’s of the various smaller firms and combining them into one EIN. We registered as CannidaCo. We created article of incorporation, and we also created a Business Plan and website to support our vision. Our company is a General Contracting firm focused on Residential, Commercial, and Government remodeling and Construction. The company also has a Power Washing Davison, a Landscaping Division, and a Moving Division. Our goal is to go after Government contracts in moving services and construction services, as well as commercial and residential landscaping. We hope to be able to offer packages that support a combination of all of these efforts. The market research indicates that we are perfectly aligned to make a considerable profit and to create a legacy. We feel we definitely have so much potential. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to get the startup financing that we need. As African Americans with no initial long view goals, we did not plan for the shortfalls of credit ratings when it came to seeking out the loans. Our company website is: http://cannidaco.com/ Very Respectfully, Jonah Perkins CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: This e-mail may contain information that may be privileged and/or confidential.
