Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein's enormously successful documentary, The Business of Being Born, has been adapted into a 30-minute version for university and college classrooms to encourage students to question the current maternity care system in America. The Business of Being Born: Classroom Edition (BoBB:CE) reaches out to young adults BEFORE they confront their own birth decisions—challenging the prevailing assumptions about birth providers and current obstetrical management trends.
Our goal is for the next generation of parents to approach birth decisions with awareness and confidence. Our strategy is to incorporate this research-based presentation into classrooms around the country. We envision empowering the next generation of parents to seek out normal birth, systemic change and new policies supporting maternity care in the United States.
Included with the DVD is a study guide designed to facilitate valuable conversation in the classroom, two celebrity interviews from More Business of Being Born, Choices in Childbirth's Guide to a Healthy Birth, and Professor Gene Declercq's Birth By The Numbers.
Help us get this incredible DVD package into college classrooms everywhere so that young women across America can learn about the tools available in pregnancy and delivery.
Please donate above and to help deliver these DVD packages. Any amount is much appreciated! Go even one step further and select the JOIN THE TEAM button below and become a fundraiser for Business of Being Born: Classroom Edition. You'll get your own fundraising page that you can share with your own friends and family!
You are invited to come to our first annual film festival, screening BOBB to help us raise funds for the Business of Being Born: Classroom Edition.
If you cannot come, donate before mothers day and then invite 10 of your friends to do the same and help spread the word!
Thank you so much!
