My BUILD Story
Washington & Lee provided an educational program unheard of in most places – a minor in Poverty Studies. During my studies towards this minor, I had the great opportunity to be introduced to both my home city, DC, and my favorite non-profit organization, BUILD, through a summer internship. At the time, I was one in an office with five full-time employees just beginning to get the DC BUILD chapter off the ground! Since then over the past five years, I have continued to stay closely connected with BUILD – working closely with the CAFÉ Cases team as a mentor, developing financial literacy curriculum through the Accenture/BUILD skills based volunteering partnership, and helping to start up the BUILD Associate Board. It has been a joy to be a part of BUILDs continued growth as they exponentially grow their reach in engaging students through entrepreneurship each year!!
Help us reach our fundraising goal of $10,000 and a BUILD Metro DC Associate Board member will complete a challenge to show their support and appreciation.
