The Story

EVENT DATE: Oct 18, 2015

Come help us end hunger in Baton Rouge! Give, invite others to give, then come walk with us to spread awareness! Family friendly games and booths set up at home base for those who choose not to participate in the walk. Event takes place October 18 beginning on the campus of the Catholic Life Center at 1900 S. Acadian Thruway. Prizes will be given to the team with the most participants and the team who raises the most money!

According to the US Census, between 2009-2013 25% of people in Baton Rouge were living below poverty level. Parents need a place to turn when their children are hungry and they have nothing to feed them. The Baton Rouge Food Bank and Interfaith Federation of Baton Rouge are places for mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers to go to find food and aid, and to learn the skills they need to help them become self-sufficient in the future. All of the money and donations raised in the Hunger Walk are shared among these organizations who help alleviate local poverty and hunger.

If you or your company would like to consider sponsoring the walk or providing supplies for the day of the walk, please contact Cecilia Weigel at
