Brewsky Brothers End of Summer Bash
Organized by: Brewsky Brothers
EVENT DATE Aug 23, 2014
We are currently working with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help raise funds to benefit the more than 30,000 children and adults and United States who are fighting cystic fibrosis.
On Saturday, August 23rd, we will host the “End of Summer Bash” fundraiser at River Rat Brewery in Columbia. At this event, we will have live music, a cornhole tournament, food trucks, vendors, and more. We are currently seeking sponsors and monetary donations to cover set up costs. We hope you will consider supporting our efforts through a cash donation, to help ensure we can get all the activities covered without sacrificing funds raised for the CFF.
Cystic fibrosis is primarily a lung disease caused by a defective gene that makes the body produce thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening infections. This mucus also obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. People with CF can literally starve to death if they don’t take supplemental pancreatic enzymes.
About 1,000 new cases of cystic fibrosis are diagnosed each year, with more than 70% of patients diagnosed by age two. The predicted median age of survival for a person with CF is in the late-30s. Ten million people in the U.S. – or one in 30 – carry the defective CF gene.
Real progress toward a cure has been made, but the lives of young people with CF are still cut far too short. We need people like you to support our mission and help extend the lives of those with the disease.
Please give the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation your support by contributing in any way you can. The CFF Federal Tax ID Number is 13-193 0701. I thank you in advance for your help in our effort to make CF stand for cure found.
