BENEFITING: Boy Scouts of America
ORGANIZER: Boy Scouts of America
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
On November 6, 2016 I will be participating in the New York City Marathon to raise money for the Boy Scouts of America. A New York native, I was born in Brooklyn on June 14, 1994. I was raised in Rosebank, Staten Island and attended grammer school at St. Josephs and in the following years St. Peter's Boy's High School.
While in my senior year I enlisted in the Marine Corps at the age of 17, leaving for bootcamp at Parris Island, SC immediately after graduating. After my training I was sent to Okinawa, Japan. While in Okinawa I was apart of several units, ultimately deploying multiple times with the 31ST MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit.) At this point, as a Marine, running became an intricate part of my life. I am looking forward to ending my service with the Marine Corps and continuing to give back to the community once I am home.
As a child I joined the Staten Island Cub Scouts. During the brief time I participated, I made long lasting memories and friendships. The experiences molded me as a child and have grown with me since. For this reason, I have chosen the Boy Scouts of America as my charitable organization in connection with running the NYC Marathon. The NYC Marathon will be a welcome challenge that I will work hard to accomplish. I am asking my friends and family to help me in donating to this cause. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated and would go towards benefiting an amazing organization.
