EVENT DATE: Jul 19, 2014
The Bonnell Foundtion: Living with cystic fibrosis helps family's in Michgan and across the Country with Cystic Fibrosis. We're the Roadmap to CF. We help family's navigate life with CF.
Laura Bonnell is a news reporter at WWJ and has two teenage daughters with cystic fibrosis. She started her Foundation in 2010 to help other families deal with the emotional and financial challenges of cystic fibrosis. Since then some great people have joined the Board: Lori Tournay Liggett, Patti Kefelas Dudek, Scott Carmona and Patty Jaeger.
The Bonnell Foundation: Living with cystic fibrosis has donated $20,000 over the past two years to the CF Foundation for research. The Bonnell Foundation donated $25,000 in college scholarships last year (more to come this year) and $12,000 and counting for lung transplant grants. We help military family's who have a parent or child with CF.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes chronic and fatal lung infections and interferes with digestion. At this time the average life expectancy is 37 years old. There is no cure. Medications are keeping people with CF alive longer; they are now living into adulthood.
