Did you know that… according to the V.A., the #1 need of women veterans is affordable, permanent housing…and the risk of women veterans becoming homeless is 4X greater than men?

Did you know that… more than 280,000 women have been sent to Iraq, Afghanistan or to other war zones? Or that they flew combat aircraft, manned missile placements, served on ships and performed other combat roles?

Did you know that… there are only a handful of permanent housing programs for all veterans nationwide? Women are often housed with men, creating an inappropriate and stressful environment for a mom and her kids.

We are BlueStar Family Homes (BFH), a division of NorthBay Family Homes (NFH). Since 1978, NFH has built similar affordable housing projects, using our expertise to develop, fund, and build over 4,000, below market rate homes with a total investment of $154,000,000.

Currently, we are in the process of selecting and acquiring several properties in Northern California to provide 1,000 new apartments, tailored to house women veterans and their children in the mid-to-lower income, at-risk segment.
