blueEnergy strengthens healthy families and resilient communities by focusing on empowering the most isolated poor. We do this by working at the nexus of renewable energy; water, sanitation, and hygiene; and food security.

It goes without saying, 2020 was a year of change for everyone. From learning how to adapt to our next normal, to the most recent devestating impact of two hurricanes striking the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, blueEnergy has continued to implement our long-term vision of sustainable and empowered communities throughout 2020, but more recently we have been responding to the global circumstances. We have distributed PPE, worked to ensure schools are connected to sustain on-going education, provided hygiene support to taxi drivers and medical professionals, and now we are responding to the horendous devestation caused by hurricanes Eta and Iota (and bracing for the possibility of hurricane Kappa).

Through all of these challenges, we need your continued support now more than ever. For 16 years, we have worked in an integrated, holistic manner. We continue to drive change from the bottom up in marginalized, isolated communities in Nicaragua and Ethiopia.

$250 can secure fresh water for an entire family. With changing rainfall, prolonged dry seasons, and the certainty of drought, water systems are more important than ever.

$1,500 can equip and train a family of changemakers in resilience, climate change adaptation, and food security. These families act as leaders and role models in their communities, creating a ripple of impact.
