What if all businesses competed not just to be best in the world, but best for the world?
Nonprofits and governments alone can't solve our most pressing problems.
Donate just $1 to our nonprofit B Lab and you'll be part of the B the Change team of people around the world using business as a force for good. We care more about bulding our team then about raising a ton of money, but if you're a big hitter, or just want to impress your friends and family, you can donate more and we won't be mad at you.
If you are a stickler for details, or a big fan of due diligence, here's a little info on what B Lab has accomplished in just a few short years:
- Created the B Impact Assessment, a free and comprehensive tool used by more than 20,000 businesses to measure and manage their impact on their employees, their communities, and the environment
- Certified over 1,100 B Corporations across 120 industries and 35 countries (seriously, 35:) -- leaders who meet what Inc. magazine called 'the highest standards socially responsible business' (google B Corp and you can see all of them, from folks you likely know like Patagonia to folks you'll be glad to learn about like d.light)
- Helped pass benefit corporation legislation in 27 states, letting businesses prioritize higher purpose not just higher profits when running their company (folks from the Delaware Bar called this a 'seismic shift in corporate law' -- that's kind of a big deal)
- Created B Analytics and GIIRS Ratings, a flexible data platform and impact ratings system used by more than 70 impact investing funds,1,600 companies, and big kahunas institutions like UBS, Prudential, USAID, and OPIC to measure the impact of their global private equity impact investments
(Still not sure?)
If you like President Bill Clinton, or think Nobel Prize Winner in Economics Robert Shiller is smart, or that New York Times columnist David is sexy, you'll be glad to know they've all said really nice things about B Corps and benefit corps.
(Are you still reading?!?)
Remember, donate any amount, literally a dollar, if you want to vote for a better way to do business. All donors will get rewards, offers, and make-your-friends-jealous insider info from the B Corp community. We'll use the money to help grow the B Corp movement globally.
We have global partner organizations all over the world, from Sistema B in Latin America to B Lab Australia/NZ on the other side of the planet. Check out their "team pages" below—if you'd prefer for your donation to go a particular region of the world, just donate to the page of the relevant partner. Any donations not directed to a particular partner will be split 50/50 between B Lab USA and our global partners, including new ones in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Together, we can help redefine success in business. B the Change.
