EVENT DATE: Jul 25, 2013
BENEFITING: Bethesda Hospital Foundation Fighting Breast Cancer
EVENT DATE: July 25th-August 2nd
On July 24th, I depart for Tanzania, Africa to embark on a journey to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. At 19,330 FT Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest free standing mountain in the world and the highest peak in Africa. I will be hiking the Rongia Route which require 6 days of tough high altitude hiking at 12,000-16,000 FT. The goal during that time is to acclimate and prepare to summit. The 6th day, we will start at 2am to make a dash for the summit which if all goes as planned, will occur at sunrise. We then will work our way back to base camp at 15,000 and return to sea level the next day.
I am doing this for one reason.... To give back. One of the founding principles of my employer Morgan Stanley is "giving back" to our communities and those less fortunate. I hope to raise substantial funds that will have a DIRECT IMPACT on those in my community.
Bethesda Hospital Foundation is in need of funds to fight Breast Cancer. Bethesda Hospital desperately needs 3D Tomosynthesis Technology (a breast cancer detection/ analysis machine) to revolutionize how Breast Cancer is detected and treated today. To be clear, this machine will save lives in Palm Beach County for those finding simple screenings unaffordable. It additionally will give your friends, colleagues or family in the Palm Beach Area the ability to recieve a much higher and safer level of treatment should they ever have to fight Breast Cancer. This will revolutionize how Breast Cancer is treated in South Florida.
My goal is simple. I want to make a difference with your help. No contribution is too small. $10, $20, $100, $1000 or whatever you deem appropriate. Any and all Tax Deductible Contributions will make a difference. I promise whatever contribution or commitment you make will have a DIRECT IMPACT.
