BENEFITING: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
ORGANIZER: The Breast Cancer Research Foundation
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
The TCS New York City Marathon is on every runner’s bucket list and in 2016 I will check this one off as I run for TEAM BCRF.
Why TEAM BCRF? The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. They provide critical funding for cancer research worldwide to scientists through research grants. I chose TEAM BCRF because for the past ten years I have worked for a not for profit scientific research institute. On a daily basis, I experience firsthand how important foundation grants and donations are for advancing scientific research and for funding scientists in their endeavors to find treatments and cures for the diseases that have impacted all of our lives. With an A+ rating from CharityWatch and a 4 star rating from Charity Navigator you can be confident that your donation to Breast Cancer Research Foundation will be used effectively with 88% of each contribution going to research and 3% for breast cancer awareness programs.
Your donation towards my fundraising goal will not only support scientific research but will be my motivation to train and complete my fourth marathon. I hope you will join me in supporting Breast Cancer Research Foundation and I invite you to keep me accountable to my training goals, Kim.
THE BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION® (BCRF) IS RUNNING THE 2016 TCS NEW YORK CITY MARATHON TO RAISE CRITICAL FUNDS FOR LIFESAVING MEDICAL RESEARCH.
The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization whose mission is to achieve prevention and a cure for breast cancer in our lifetime by providing critical funding for innovative clinical and translational research at leading medical centers worldwide, and increasing public awareness about good breast health. For over 20 years, BCRF-funded researchers have been at the forefront of nearly every significant breakthrough in understanding, preventing and treating the disease. We know that the answers continue to lie in science, and that the only thing standing in the way is research funding. With your help, together we can accelerate progress and achieve a world without breast cancer.
