As many of you know who read my recent FB post, job offers have been non-existent. As a result my pension, 401k, and savings are gone. I feel very fortunate to hold on as long as I did. Keeping a tight leash on spending was key, but in the end the weight of a very large mortgage, individual health coverage costs, and excess IRS payments resulting from the 401k proved too much. Considering liabilities far outweigh my assets, I would like to file for bankruptcy, but haven't been able to raise enough funds to properly file for bankruptcy and still manage to put food on the table. This isn't about a handout. This is real. I wouldn't do this if it wasn't a last resort, and it is turning my inside out just thinking about it.. Within a few months of the filing I will be able to rebuild my life from scratch and return to being the affable character you all know. And you knows, in the meantime maybe luck will change and a good company will finally hire me.
