We are a group of Chinese professionals from Bay Area, the passion of running brought us together. We love running so much that we organize our group runs every weekend. During the runs, we enjoy our favorite sport together, sharing our running stories, discussing running techniques and helping each other to run better and faster. We have a Google group and a Facebook group, both share the same name BAD Unknown as our team. We have 110 members in the google group and 57 in the facebook group, among them, about 30 members participate our group activities religiously. We are glad to see more and more new friends joining us.
Despite the fact that we are actually some GOOD and KNOWN people, we got our seemingly infamous name two years ago. The early few members of our group got to know each other through a popular online Chinese community mitbbs.com, it is also known as "The Unknown Space" , from there we started to organize group runs. The idea of joining a relay race "The relay 2010" came to our minds in 2010. We recruited a few more new members from a Chinese social web site bayareadragon.com, we used this web site to organize our race as well. When the time to give our team a name came, a friend of us said "BAD -- bayareadragon", "Unknown -- The unknown space", so it is BAD Unknown. Every one of us liked it, so the cool name BAD Unknown stuck from then on.
The Relay 2010 was both a fun race and a longest party. We cherish every bit of it and we will always remember some of the great moments like they just happened yesterday.
We remember that Sylvia got to line up with ultra runner Dean Karnazes, and darted out from start line, with big smiles on her face. She later told us that she had passed Dean.
We remember that when Frank got lost in the ranch, Pengxiang volunteered to run back and found him.
We remember that Pengxiang ran alongside with Joy in the dark to cheer her up.
We remember that Aiden -- Joy's cute boy and his dad stood under glaring sunlight to see her racing towards the end of her last leg.
We remember that even the freezing chill at the finishing line could not stop the tea.m from cheering over and over.
We are back for The Relay 2012. Please come and join the BAD Unknown family. Let's run for fitness! Let's run for happiness! Thanks everyone for your support!
