BENEFITING: FLINTRIDGE CENTER
There are over 18,000 youth attending public schools in Pasadena, many of whom are impacted by poverty and community violence. Over 60% of public school students here qualify for free or reduced lunch, meaning their families are well below the poverty line.
Every summer, Flintridge Center creates a nurturing space for 150 youth who need the most support. In collaboration with key partners, our programs provide academic support, mentoring, leadership development, life skills, arts education, and fun outings to keep youth engaged and out of trouble. But we need your help to make sure all these youth have the tools they need to succeed. We’re raising money to buy every youth in our programs backpacks and school supplies they need to participate in our programs and go into the school year strong.
You can make sure every youth we serve gets a backpack full of school supplies by helping us raise $7,500 before the school year ends on June 1st.
$5 buys a spiral notebook
$10 buys a calculator
$20 buys packs of pencils for 10 students
$50 buys a backpack filled with all the school supplies a student needs
By giving right now, you can make sure a young person has the tools they need to thrive. And by investing in youth, you invest in safer, healthier community for everyone.
Last year, a group of amazing donors helped us raise over $5,000 in cash and in-kind donations. We hope you'll follow in their footsteps and help us do even better this year!
We are pleased to be working with our program partners: Day One, College Access Plan, Lake Avenue Community Foundation, Pasadena Unified School District, ArtCenter College of Design, Live Above The Hype, Aspires West, Pasadena City College, and Be Strong Families.
