Young Audrey's Push for Mobility
Organized by: Joanne Joseph
EVENT DATE Nov 30, 2015
Born in Secaucus, New Jersey, Audrey Bells is a 3-year-old child who suffers from multiple congenital defects. She is currently under the care of her grandmother while her mother has been court-ordered to receive treatment at a rehabilitation center. The symptoms from the disease have caused Audrey to eventually lose some of her motor skills including her ability to walk or speak. This disease primarily affects Audrey’s heart and neural-motor controls causing her muscles to weaken. In most cases, there is no cure but there are treatments to improve symptoms and increase mobility. Audrey’s grandmother can no longer carry her so she needs a specialized stroller that will support her body and help her to move around.
