As One is an accessible resource that builds the capacity of an individual to support a survivor of sexual violence. We fulfill this through a four-pronged approach to our work: providing web=based resources, offering individual consultations, developing curricula, and leading workshops and other educational initiatives.

As One’s tagline is, “helping friends and family members of survivors of sexual violence move forward as one.” We utilize the term “secondary survivors” to encompass any individual who is peripherally impacted by sexual violence. For example, a secondary survivor could be the roommates, parents, siblings, teammates, coaches, teachers, colleagues, fellow parishioners, or neighbors of a victim of sexual violence.

Our efforts to expand our efforts to reach secondary survivors will include developing partnerships with direct service providers, enhancing our website, increasing opportunities for in-person engagement, increasing visibility for the secondary survivor community, advancing knowledge and promoting theoretical work around sexual violence and self-authorship, and establishing the financial foundation for the organization in order to ensure our long-term viability.
