Ashley was diagnosed with Hypodiploid Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in May 2016, a few months before her fourth birthday. Although standard risk ALL has a 95+% survival rate, Hypodiploid ALL is rare and extremely aggressive with a ~30% survival rate. Ashley only had two treatment options: Very High Risk Chemo or a Bone Marrow Transplant. Both options can have tons of complications, but we chose a Bone Marrow Transplant because the survival rate was higher. Ideally, we would have had a third option that had a higher survival rate and was less toxic.
There is a research team at UCSF that is working on a drug specifically to treat Hypodiploid ALL. These funds will go towards getting that drug tested and approved so future children will Hypodiploid ALL can have a third (and better) option.
Help us reach our goal of $50,000! Any amount will aid in research and progression of this potential life saving treatment. If you are interested in following Ashley's story, you can follow our FB page: Ashley's Journey to Beat Leukemia. Thank you!
