Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH), and hemophagocytic syndrome, is an uncommon hematologic disorder. There isn't enough research done on it to even properly treat it. My brother was 1 when he first got diagnosed with it. It didn't seem like a big deal then. Everything was normal and he was getting his chemotherapy. He spent his first birthday in the hospital but I managed to buy cake and still celebrate it! After a while he was allowed to go home. The house was filled with joy again after his return. Then the next year went smooth until after his 2nd birthday, HLH had striked him again and he had to go through Chemo again but this time a bone marrow transplant as well. He survived it and he was a hero. His body didn't repond to the treatment so they did the cell transplant, he survived that as well. With bravery, he kept fighting and finally gave up. He passed away due to the internal bleeding of the brain. He had defeated HLH, but the side effects of the horrible disease have taken him away from us. Just few months before his birthday. He might not be here but he will always be in our hearts! Please help me fundraise to get more research done on HLH! Help me get other's out of the same darkness, before it's too late. DONATE NOW!
