BENEFITING: RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF NEW YORK
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2014
Dear Friends, Family and Esteemed Colleagues -
As most of you know, in my four years at RBC I have become an active member, sponsor and general advocate for the amazing work that the Ronald McDonald House has done for countless families in dire situations. Twice a month, my colleagues and I personally sponsor house dinners and provide entertaining activities to the families in residence. Providing this service to these families has been such a rewarding experience and will always remain dear to my heart.
Running both the NYC Marathon and the San Francisco Women's Half Marathon have always been bucket list items for me. This year I hope to complete both within two weeks of each other (you know my motto -- GO BIG OR GO HOME!)
What better way to keep me on my game than raising money for this amazing charity?
My goal is to raise $25,000 in hopes that through matching programs we can donate $50,000 directly to RMDH where all of the funds raised will go straight to the operation of the house.
At Ronald McDonald House New York, we support each family and coordinate emotional and physical services, psychological care, ministry support, wellness programs, tutors, music, art, transportation, activities for siblings, holiday and birthday parties and camaraderie for parents struggling with their child’s cancer diagnosis.
These services are a part of the fabric of Ronald McDonald House New York, and are provided to families at a nominal fee of no more than $35 per night. With each family that arrives, there is a uniting hope and a common search for health and healing.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my little journey and more importantly for your generous donation to RMDH, NYC.
Let's do this!
P.S. For anyone interested in how my road to training is going, I will continue to post updates and anecdotal parables along the way. At the very least, I can provide mindless entertainment!
