As a blogger for the Borgen Project, I work to help raise political awareness about the importance of eradicating global poverty as a national security priority.

The Borgen Project works to build support for U.S. government programs (ie. USAID) that provide assistance (grants) to effective aid and development agencies on the ground. In essence, we’re helping the top agencies get better resources to help more people. Our donors don’t sponsor a child, they sponsor the process that helps millions of children… None of whom know you by name, nor will they write you a letter. Bummer, we know.

An estimated 800,000 people per year will receive life-saving assistance as the result of food aid reforms that were advocated by The Borgen Project passing in Congress in February of 2014.
