AGGREY MEMORIAL OLD STUDENTS ASSOCIATION, INC. is a non-profit 501(C)3 organization in good standing with the IRS. Contributions to this organization are tax-deductible.
The organization was formed for the purpose of providing educational assistance to secondary/high schools in the OGUAA metropolitan area in the Central region of Ghana. This metropolitan area prides itself as a major educational hub for high school education in Ghana.
The object of this fund-raising endeavor is to solicit for funds to help support the construction of a much-needed sick bay for the students as a temporary holding place for sick students on the Aggrey Memorial Secondary School premises before possible transfer to the hospital for medical/surgical care.
The estimate of the cost for construction and equipping of the sick bay is around $15,000 to $20,000.
Currently, the school lacks the resources to provide the initial, basic medical care for students who come down with various ailments like stomach upsets, headaches and chills, wounds etc, which can easily be managed in an outpatient setting.
The lack of this basic medical support impacts the students negatively because they often miss classes and students stay in environments not conducive to their well-being.
