EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
A few years back, after having taken a step away from the world of wrestling, which had been my passion for many years, I found that something was missing in my day-to-day life. I still had the desire to push myself mentally and physically, but I didn't have an outlet. I decided to refocus my energy into long-distance running. Much like with wrestling, I found that with running good things come slow -- every day you struggle against adversity, but you also earn every single accomplishment. When I run, I only think about my next step: my focus is entirely and solely on what I am doing at that second. I treasure these moments, each step bringing me an unparalleled moment of clarity.
But for every milestone I reach, I know I can always push myself a bit more. It's for this reason that I've decided to run the New York City Marathon on November 6th for Team AmeriCares, an emergency response and global health organization committed to saving lives and building healthier futures for people in crisis in the United States and around the world.
This is truly a special event and something that I've been working toward for some time. Our collective goal is to raise both funds and awareness for the AmeriCares global mission. Since its inception in 1979, the organization has responded to disasters, poverty, disease, and deadly conflicts: wherever people are in crisis, AmeriCares has delivered the help they need.
Please join me in dedicating my passion for running to the efforts of this truly worthy cause by considering to donate. Your donation, no matter the amount, will directly benefit the lives of countless individuals in the United States and around the world.
Thank you for your time.
