EVENT: 2016 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2016
As many of you may know, my mother Sheryl was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. In her honor, I am excited to be part of the "Run to End Alzheimer's - Boston 2016" marathon team. I will be running the 120th Boston Marathon on April 18th, 2016. If you are visiting this page, you are in some way a part of our lives and we welcome you to be part of the solution to some of the problems this disease presents.
Every 67 seconds someone in the United States develops the disease. Countless more spouses, siblings, sons & daughters, family & friends are indirectly affected by the disease. The progression of Alzheimer’s can rarely be slowed, and the disease cannot yet be prevented or cured. Alzheimer’s research is grossly underfunded and the Alzheimer's Association is here to narrow the gap in funding and to provide much needed assistance to patients and caregivers affected by the disease.
I would appreciate you donating to the cause in any way you can. If you know someone whose life has been touched by Sheryl, or by Alzheimer's, please feel free to share this page. All donations will go to the Alzheimer’s Association and I will pay for my race entry fee separately. 78% of the Association's total annual expenses go to care, support, research, awareness and advocacy activities.
