BENEFITING: American Heart Association
EVENT: 2018 Pittsburgh Marathon
EVENT DATE: May 06, 2018
Heart disease has strong roots in my family, taking several members way to early. I can remember from a young age my Bubba (grandmother) always donating every year during our annual Jump for the Heart event at school, and always speaking highly of it’s importance. Because of the AHA and their dedication to research in the prevention and treatment of heart disease, my dad was able to have bypass surgery before more serious damage was done to his heart, allowing him to continue to live as actively as ever. Running the half marathon in memory and recognition of so many wonderful people who have suffered from and are currently living with various cardiovascular conditions while raising money for an awesome organization will help carry me to the finish line!
