BENEFITING: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
ORGANIZER: American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is a national leader in the fight against suicide. Their mission is simple: save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. They've set a bold goal to reduce the annual suicide rate by 20% the U.S. by 2025.
Funds raised will go towards research, creating educational programs, advocating for public policy, and supporting survivors of suicide loss.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention focuses on prevention. They urge us all to live a life that is proactive, rather than reactive.
Last year, I was diagnosed with major depression and anxiety. This year, I’m on a mission to end stigma against mental illness.
Speaking up and speaking out about my own depression may help others see that it’s not something that needs to be hidden any longer. I’m running for you, I’m running for those we have lost and I’m running for those we will save by allowing AFSP to continue this important work.
Please join me in my efforts to prevent suicide and end the stigma around mental illness. Your donation is tax deductible, and no donation is too small.
