Adopt A House
At Adopt A House we have over 500 homes registered with us who were seriously affected by Super Storm Sandy. As of March 21, almost 5 months later most of these residents are at a standstill because of insurance, bank or financial issues.
Our local governments are working hard to determine the damage and help the residents recover, yet potential funding through federal grants is still held up on a state level, and will be for a long time if history is any indicator.
We have been working since the storm to help residents recover swiftly by providing information and education. We've heard story after heartbreaking story of loss from our friends and neighbors. All along we've been been searching for the right solution to help these houses fundraise directly and individually. Until now: Any donation made to a house through this fundraiser will go directly to that house. No red tape.
Any donation made to Adopt A House is considered tax-deductible because we are a 501C3 non-profit.
