THE STORY:
As many of you may know, anxiety is something I have dealt with my whole life, but is also something not many people talk about openly. I have had an extremely amazing support system of family and friends, but not everyone has the resources to get help (or even knows there is help available) when it comes to anxiety disorders.
That is where a non-profit like the Anxiety and Depression Association of America comes in. They are dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of anxiey and related disorders while improving the lives of people who suffer from them (like me). You can find out more about them here: http://www.adaa.org/
This is my first marathon ever - a whole 26.2 miles - and I wanted to use my running for a greater good. Running has been therapeutic for me and has done wonders for my anxiety, so now I can use it to do wonders for others' anxiety as well.
I am training with Rogue Running here in Austin (a special shout out to my amazing coach, Amy) and running as a member of the Oiselle Team.
