A World With No Math
DEADLINE TO GIVE: Sep 27, 2020
Our Story: A World with No Math
Imagine a world with no math. That's right. No way to calculate your batting average or track your number of Twitter followers.
Say it ain’t so, but this kind of world already exists for children living in poor countries. So we put our heads together, and, we've found the solution to the problem: Numeracy Boost. And you, of course.
What is Numeracy Boost?
Numeracy Boost is an education program that focuses on giving children the basic math skills they need to thrive in daily life. From counting cattle to charting the rainy seasons, these skills aren't just "good to have." They are essential to helping children reach their full potential.
Kids gain these skills through the help of awesome teachers trained in better teaching practices. And they learn math outside the classroom through community activities like annual “Math Days,” and by pairing up with older “Numeracy Boost Buddies” to help them stay on top of their game.
So, how do YOU fit into this equation?
We've got a goal: raise $250,000 in 60 days. Compared to the infinity that math gurus like to dabble in, this number is totally achievable with your help!
Check out the video to see what “A World with No Math” would be like. (A team who work at “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” wrote and produced this video as a volunteer project.)
Actors/comedians Michael Boatman, Julie Bowen, Simon Helberg and John Oliver are all backing our campaign. They know that by boosting kids’ math skills, it sets them up for success in school and life. Can we “count” you in, too? Select one of their pages below to support their Numeracy Boost fundraiser.
Top fundraiser for each celebrity team will receive an awesome autographed math gift pack plus an outbound cell phone message from famous voice actor Richard Green!
When you give to Numeracy Boost, you give a gift that adds up big time for kids around the world. And, you’ll score major points with us!
