BENEFITING: Running Rivers
Running Rivers is a Colorado 501(c)(3) corporation that was officially established in 2016 to facilitate the connection of people with healthy freshwater ecosystems through novel recreational events, educational activities and on-the-ground restoration projects.
At Running Rivers, we firmly believe that the best way to ensure the preservation, protection, and maintenance of our irreplaceable public lands and waters is to develop and foster the stewards who will stand up in their defense. Our programs create unique opportunities for people to experience public lands and waters in novel and fun ways, to expand their depth of understanding of the importance of healthy functioning freshwater ecosystems, and to invest in their time, money, and sweat through on-the-ground stewardship projects.
Since 2014, with our flagship program (the Rocky Mountain Flyathlon), we have brought together more than 200 people to recreate on spectacular streams in remote parts of Colorado. In the process, our race participants have raised more that $60,000 for cold-water conservation projects through our conservation partners, Colorado Trout Unlimited and the Western Native Trout Initiative.
We are a 100% volunteer-led organization, a small group of Coloradans who are passionate about improving our state's naturally functioning waterbodies, and creating new ways to sustainably enjoy them. Your donation will help us to grow our organization, to develop new events and programs, and ultimately to increase our impact. Thank you for your time and consideration!
