BENEFITING: Habitat For Humanity Of Laramie County
We believe that everyone deserves a decent, safe place to call home. However, for many homeowners, the cost of even minor repairs is out of reach. Our A Brush with Kindness program is here to help and you can join us!
You probably already know that Habitat for Humanity builds affordable housing for income qualified families to purchase. A Brush With Kindness expands our desire to create a stong, stable and self-reliant community through shelter by assiting existing homeowners afford repairs to their home that they would otherwise struggle to achieve.
A Brush with Kindness can tackle painting and landscaping projects as well as a variety of repairs to help homeowners maintain value in their homes. Our program can also provide accomodations or modifications to homes to make them safe and liveable for those dealing with disabilites.
Just as with our home-building initiative, qualified applicants are required to contribute to the project. Through what we call “sweat equity” Habitat for Humanity involves homeowners in whatever capacity they are able to contribute.
Because of Habitat for Humanity’s reputation in our community, we are often the beneficiaries of discounted or donated goods and services. This means we can do a lot more with a lot less. And thanks to our ever growing army of volunteers, our projects become wonderful events that bring the community together in the spirit of good work and neighborly love.
Now we need your help. To get this program on a sturdy foundation, we are raising funds for our summer session of A Brush With Kindness. Thanks to the generosity of First Presbyterian Church’s Men on a Mission group, we are the recipients of $3,000 in matching funds. This means that for every dollar we raise, they’ll match it.
Even small donations will make a big difference. Will you help us meet our goal today with a donation?
