12 Mile Route - Enjoy the day on your beach cruiser or hybrid—road bikes are not necessary for this leisurely tour of Livermore. Head out from the grassy picnic grounds under our Stop Diabetes arch and up a steep but short path out of Shadow Cliffs. Take the Stanley Blvd. bike path east to the Arroyo Bike Trail, which takes you through a number of parks and keeps you away from automobile traffic.
35 Mile Route - Get your heart rate up on this scenic route and return in plenty of time to enjoy lunch and the post-ride festivities. You’ll start out on the Arroyo Bike Trail, which leads you onto Concannon Blvd. and then Tesla Rd., past Livermore’s iconic Wente Vineyards. Head north on Greenville Rd., under I-580 and through a quiet neighborhood before reaching an open landscape of rolling hills. You’ll return across highway 580 on Airway Blvd and take the Arroyo Bike Trail from Jack London Blvd back to Shadow Cliffs
55 Mile Route - The 55 mile route begins with a trip through Pleasanton before heading south to picturesque Sunol. A shady trip north past Pleasanton Ridge Regional Park brings you back to Bernal Ave. From there, continue to the aptly-named Vineyard Ave before heading north and meeting up with the 35 mile riders. These routes parallel each other for the final 25 miles.
55 Miles with 8 Mile Challenge (Optional) - Need an extra challenge? Add nearly 8 miles with a steady incline off the 55 mile route for that extra burn! Kilkare Rd is an out & back climb from Sunol into the small community of Kilkare Wood. It’s a gentle stretch of road with minimal to no traffic. The road has an average grade of 3.5% with steep pitches of 6-8%.
The rest stops will be approximately every 6-12 miles.
