WillaMutt Strut 2018
EVENT DATE: Jun 10, 2018
For the seventh year in a row, dedicated animal lovers are lacing up their shoes and hitting Riverfront Park to strut their stuff! This fun annual event brings together over 500 pet owners and pet lovers to raise funds for the dogs and cats of Willamette Humane Society.
You and your friends can help homeless dog and cats find their furever homes. Simply ask your friends to support you in the name of homeless animals. Our goal this year is to raise $5,000. It's ambitious, but we can do it together-- for the animals.
Our donors and supporters helped 3,600 pets find homes through Willamette Humane Society's programs in 2017. Every dollar you raise will go towards helping the animals of 2018 find their new homes--animals like Wes.
Wes’ story is one of survival and resilience. The young pup arrived at Willamette Humane Society at the end of August, severely emaciated, but enthusiastic and friendly. It was clear Wes had suffered and struggled during the first two years of his life. From the moment he came to the shelter, our team had one goal: Make sure the rest of his life would be as wonder-ful as it could be.
The first order of business was to get him on a five-times-per day feeding schedule to get his weight up and nutrients into his system. The next step was to heal Wes’ body of intestinal parasites that threatened to undermine his progress.
The final step was to shower Wes with positive attention and affection. He needed to know that despite his previous hardships, people loved him and would protect him. Wes spent six weeks in our care and gained a whopping 12 pounds! In early October, he went to live with his new dog sister, Missy, in his new forever home and he is living the dog dream.
Wes never gave up, we never gave up and you never give up. Your support saved his life.
