As you may know, I work for a wonderful organization named GENaustin. One of the girls that comes to GENaustin’s programs is Tatiana Dalmau who is an 8th grader at Bailey Middle School and she and her friends are getting bullied by their peers.
Tatiana says, “My friends all have something about them that is different, and they get made fun of, but I admire them for it. Why can’t everyone understand we’re all the same inside? Why do people have such a hard time not being mean?”
I am emailing today to ask for your help. Tatiana is like hundreds of other girls who want to attend GENaustin’s We Are Girls Conference on November 12th to talk to experts about the issues they are facing. Yet so many girls can’t afford the $30 ticket. GENaustin’s We Are Girls Conference is a statewide event that helps girls explore the issues of bullying, body image and being a girl.
I have set a goal for myself to find the scholarship money to bring 30 girls to the conference – which is just $30 from 30 people. Would you consider a scholarship for one or more of the girls I want to bring to the conference?
Thanks for considering making a $30 donation for a girl to have this empowering experience. Our participants last year said it was life-changing.
