Gabby Gamad wrote -In 2012 nearly 18,000 children under the age of five died each day around the world. Sadly, the majority of these deaths were and are preventable. Although the number of deaths in children under five has declined nearly half since 1990, UNICEF- The United Nations Children Emergency Fund- is doing what they can to see this number not only continue to drop, but to be ZERO.
UNICEF believes that by nurturing children around the world and fighting for their basic rights we will continue to progress as humans. UNICEF at Ohio University believes the same thing.
Every child deserves food, water, and a place to lay their head down at night. That is why UNICEF at Ohio University is working to raise funds through various fundraising events and generous donations to contribute to the change.
As a part of UNICEF's Campus Initiative, we have made it our mission to do what we can to help impact the lives of millions impoverished children around the world. Every donation, big or small, can help contribute to the significant change we hope to see in the world. Even the smallest donations can help save the life of a child in need!
Ohio University’s UNICEF chapter believes in ZERO.
