In 2013, I served on the Executive Board for UGA HEROs and it was the greatest experience I’ve had in college. This past December, I was selected to be on the Board of Directors for the 2014 Executive Board, where I work with a group of five outstanding students to plan everything HEROs will do this year.
UGA HEROs is the largest student run college organization in the state of Georgia. We fundraise to improve the quality of life-care for children in Georgia affected by HIV/AIDs. The money we raise, provided from generous donors, goes directly to H.E.R.O. For Children, an Atlanta non-profit that has programs to benefit the lives of children infected or affected by HIV/AIDs.
So what exactly are those programs? We have SuperHEROs Mentoring, a mentorship program, Rising HERO Life Skills which is a program that helps the kids that are ages 6-16 build life skills and self-confidence as they live with this disease, and Camp High Five, a week-long camp that occurs over the summer.
As much love as I have for these precious children, I can’t do it alone. I ask that you will help me, financially, in my goal to raise $2,000, for these beautiful kids, and any donation is SO appreciated.
