We VCMC babies are running this race with our moms to benefit our counterparts in Ethiopia. We are lucky enough to be born to moms who have safe pregnancies and who only have to worry about fitting into their pre-pregnancy jeans (which is why they are running this 5K). Mom's in Ethiopia have much more to worry about. With little access to medical care, their lives are in serious danger every time they become pregnant. Their pregnancies are so dangerous that without help from wonderful people like our friend Michelle, their babies can become motherless.
Our dear friend Dr Michelle Yates, her husband Adam (an engineer), and their 10 month old baby Cole (the fastest crawler known to man) are moving to Africa to provide much needed medical care in Ethiopia. Dr Yates is an amazing family doctor with specialized training in maternal health and HIV care. For those of you who don't know her, she is the most hard working and compassionate doctor you will ever meet. We, at VCMC, are so proud to be part of Michelle's training. There is no doubt that Michelle's work in Ethiopia will make a tremendous difference in the lives of the women she serves.
Please make a tax deductable to the Christian Health Service Corp ( a small organization through which her project is funded) to support her valuable work. We have arranged it so all donations will go directly to her cause.
You're donation will not only help these moms get back into their pre- pregnancy jeans, but will make a lifelong impact in the lives of many in Ethiopia!
