The Tiny But Mighty Fund was created to celebrate the unbreakable bonds between animals and their companions, while also raising awareness and funding for animal welfare and rescue groups in the Middle Tennessee community. The fund that is managed by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee honors the spirit of Chico, a miniature Chihuahua that passed away in 2013 from congestive heart failure, and is named for the inspiration he provided his owner, and to serve as a reminder that even the tiniest acts of kindness can make a mighty big difference.
Join us in the 2nd Annual Tiny But Mighty Fundraiser by considering making a donation, creating a fundraiser team, or by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org if your company is interested in offering a corporate gift. Last December, our goal was to raise $10,000 and we were able to all ban together and raise nearly $26,000 in funds for animals in need at Nashville Humane Association during our inuagural fundraising campaign. Our goal for 2014 is $10,000 to again benefit our friends at NHA. Our fundraising campaign period is from November 18, 2014 - December 18, 2015.
We are also accepting nominatiions for the launch of The Chico Award. This award will recognize an outstanding individual who contributes to to the welfare, brings awareness, assists in the prevention of animal cruelty, and/or raises funds for animals in our community. The honoree will be announced on January 18th and will be given an award and an opportunity to donate $1000 of the funds that we raise from the Tiny But Mighty Fundraiser to an animal welfare/rights 501c3 organization of their choice. We will be accepting nominations from November 18, 2014 - December 18, 2015.
