BENEFITING: The Marfan Foundation
ORGANIZER: The Marfan Foundation
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
I feel honored to run in the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon (!!) on behalf of the Marfan Foundation. I am running in honor of a close family friend who has Marfan Syndrome. I promise to run my heart out for this incredible cause.
For those who do not know, Marfan syndrome is a life-threatening genetic disorder that most seriously affects the heart, blood vessels, and eyes. People with Marfans tend to be very tall and slender. They cannot play team sports due to potential heart complications, which can result in sudden death. People with Marfans have to constantly be aware of many daily actions that we take for granted.
The Marfan Foundation does everything possible, including research, advocacy, and education (even to doctors!!), to make sure people can live longer, fuller lives.
In a world where there has been a lot of negativity and fear, it's important to dedicate time and effort to something that can bring hope and save lives. PLEASE join me in supporting this campaign and help me reach $3,000. Your contribution allows the Foundation to do life-saving work. Go Team Victory! THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
